Disaster Update!

OMG! Just very quick update. Big post will follow when internet is available. We live in the sw area on Cape Coral, Surfside. They don’t kid around.we are a mere seven minutes from Matlacha. We lived through storm inside our home. And the water ran through it. Then as if that’s not tragic enough, I developed a devastating case of shingles. No words. I have meds am getting better each day. But it’s an awful virus that is excruciatingly painful.

I am waiting anxiously to be able to have some sort of new normalcy. Thanks to those of you who have reached out with prayers and well wishes.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your Shingles outbreak. If you haven’t already read this, get The Vanishing Man by Charles Finch. I read a lot of mysteries. This one has lightness and humor!

  2. My prayers and thoughts are with you . Shingles are “no fun “ with a house ruined by water.
    Take care.

  6. Hi Jean, So sorry to hear what you have been going through. I wish you a speedy recovery. We had moved from Naples to Boynton Beach so other than a few tornadoes we did no have all the that the west coast incurred. Such devastation. Its still hard to believe. 7. Jean,

I have been fortunate to meet you and enjoy your book presentations every year in BB and always look forward to receiving your emails. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this devastating time. I am grateful that I did not have any flooding as I live a bit inland in Estero. I am sorry that you and so many others have suffered such great loss.

Stay safe and strong knowing that you are cared for by many.

  12. How dreadful for you! So sorry to hear this.. Have you fared well since the Hurricane? Damage to your home? We were most fortunate in Estero, mostly tree damage, loss of power, screens, but no water in our area. Please know that our prayers are with you, hoping you all recovered nicely. We all look forward to hearing you at our Book Talk in November, and hope you will be well for that.
