Man Booker Short List 2015

And here you have them: The six contenders for the Man Booker 2015. I especially love the cover for A SPOOL OF BLUE THREAD by Anne Tyler.  I loved that book. I have a copy of A BRIEF HISTORY OF SEVEN KILLINGS by Marlon James. Have just not gotten around to reading it. Might be a good time to do that.  At any rate, here are six major books to put on your reading list.

  1. I loved A Little Life. Not a fan of the new cover but maybe more people will read it now. The other cover WAS torturous to view. I felt it perfectly matched the story though.

  2. Interesting that the Canadian cover of,”A Spool of Blue Thread” was totally different. Much as I love Ann Tyler,I found this book disjointed and difficult to get into. As well the characters were not as endearing as in her other books. Please convince me to pick up this book again. (incidentally,I found the hard cover version in a neighbours front yard box of free,”help yourself” discards. Thanks…I like most of your recommendations!

  3. After years of being disappointed with Anne Tyler’s later books, I fell in love with A SPOOL OF BLUE THREAD. I’m happy to see it getting the attention it deserves.
