THE PRICE OF BLOOD, by Patricia Bracewell, is the second in a trilogy featuring Emma of Normandy. THE SHADOW OF THE CROWN, the first in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles, introduced readers to Emma, showing us a time when daughters were traded like pawns in a world when fear of the supernatural governed the actions of men.
I found Bracewell’s writing to be historically authentic and immensely readable. For those of you who are familiar with Bernard Cornwell’s popular Saxon Tales, Bracewell’s work is being likened to it. And rightly so.
I will be posting an interview with Patricia soon.
I have a link for bookclubs here. This is your book club kit. I only wish more publishers presented these.
