Beachcombers

Nancy Thayer is another of my favorite summer authors. This new one is just out and takes place on Nantucket island. Is absolutely delightful.

Several women are showcased in this novel of summer, of women, and of dilemma.

After Marina is dumped by her husband, is forced to sell half of their business to him, and is devastated by all this, she rents a cottage on Nantucket for six months. The cottage is owned by rugged island- type with three almost grown up daughters. He is a widower who everyone seems to love. But there is more.

Mystery and trouble abound. This is a novel you can drop yourself into for a day or two and just veg out over. Take yourself to Nantucket. And bake on the beach or shop the quaint walkways, or just relax in a chair on the porch.

All Thayer’s books are full of women’s stuff. A light read to take you away from it all.
